Why is US Congressman Ron Paul receiving worldwide support in the 2012 US Presidential Elections
Dr. Ron Paul is one of the candidates contesting for the Republican party nomination for the 2012 United States Presidential Elections. He is receiving an overwhelming support from "real people" not only in the United States but across the world. Some of the reasons why he is becoming so popular worldwide are:
He is the only honest candidate and man of integrity in the US Presidential candidate who has never changed his statements in his 30 years of political career.
He is the only candidate who has not supported any bill or legislation which are against humanity, personal freedom or US economy.
He is the only candidate who believes in abiding by the US constitution and has in-depth knowledge of the US constitution.
While other candidates are mostly sponsored by corporate money, Ron Paul gains support and donations from actual people in grassroots spread across the whole nation as well as abroad.
While other candidates speak about more wars and attacking other countries, Ron Paul speaks about never entering into preemptive wars. He says that international trade and diplomacy can achieve much better results than entering preemptive wars. And he also mentions that if there is a dire need for war, then US congress must make a proper declaration of war and then attack and return back to US after winning the war.
He is the only candidate who proposes cutting down on the total US debt which is about to touch 100% of the nation's GDP. He mentions that the billions of dollars in foreign aid must be cut down and instead the money should be used to improve the US economy.
He is the only candidate who speaks about reducing the government expenditure and to reduce the size of government. He even proposes to reduce his presidential salary to less than 40,000 USD from the current US presidential salary of 400,000 USD.
He is the only Presidential candidate who speaks of auditing the US Federal Reserve which prints the US dollar. The Federal Reserve is currently not accountable to anybody including the US congress and so, they can print money endlessly. This results in increased national debt as there is no way to either audit or back the amount of money printed with something solid such as gold. He also proposes to end the Federal Reserve in the long run and to replace it with some well accountable agency. He also wants bad debt to liquidate instead of government bailing out all debts in US as well as in other countries.
He is the only candidate who openly opposes terrible US legislations such as SOPA, PIPA, NDAA and Patriot Act which are perceived to be against privacy and liberty of US citizens. He has also brought about a legislation in the congress to end NDAA. The National Defence Authorization Act (NDAA) allows US govt. to arrest any US citizen and detain indefinitely without any legal help based only on suspicion and so, Dr. Paul opposes it.
Ron Paul also proposes to bring back all the US troops stationed in the 900 US military bases across 130 countries of the world.
He believes that government should play lesser role in people's lives and a free society and liberty should prevail.
He also proposes to substantially reduce income taxes and finally abolish it if possible by reducing excess government expenditure and stop spending on unnecessary wars abroad.
He is the oldest yet most honest candidate in the Presidential race aged at 76 years.
While other candidates have massive houses and villas, he lives in his small house in Texas.
He is a family man who has had a successful married life with a single wife for more than 50 years.
He is a Doctor who has delivered over 400 babies and so, he is a person who respects human life.
These traits of Dr. Ron Paul has resulted in increasing his popularity rapidly. And he is known to have never made any shallow promises and has always backed up his words with actual implementations in real life in all the 30 years of his political career. The youth especially who are on the internet and who can read unbiased opinions instead of depending on mainstream media have been the biggest supporters of Ron Paul. In fact, most people who have heard him and understood his words properly have become fans of the Texan politician though his own party and media to some extent have not been that supportive. People outside US have been even bigger fans at times as they can understand him and his speeches in an unbiased manner without being influenced by US media or political parties. He is a fresh change of honesty and integrity in a world where politicians take populist measures and change positions to garner votes. His supporters feel that if he becomes the US President then he can not only be a fresh change in the US but also across the world. He can set an example which might result in the emergence of a new generation of honest politicians across the globe.
